Antique sapphire and diamond three stone cross over engagement ring. Centrally set with a natural unenhanced cushion shape old cut sapphire in an open back yellow gold claw setting with an approximate weight of 0.85 carats, further set to top and bottom with two round old cut diamonds in open back platinum claw settings with a combined weight of 1.00 carats, and flanked by two scrolling shoulders set with ten round rose cut diamonds in open back platinum grain and millegrain settings with a combined weight of 0.10 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.10 carats, to an elegant crossover form with intricate curving claws and pierced backholing, flowing down to a solid ridged shank. Tested yellow gold and platinum, circa 1905.
