Vintage Rings

Vintage rings are those that are over 50 years in age, and encompasses pieces crafted between the 1940s and the 1970s.

In the 1940s, what we now know as vintage rings were sculptural and three-dimensional, incorporating ribbons, bows and fabric-like folds. Bold, flowing designs were popular, and emphasised adventurous colour choices.  The 1950s saw a continuation of the gold cocktail ring, along with a resurgence of the popular Art Deco style, before leading into the 1960s when rings tended to be more simple in design. The 1970s is known for chunky yellow gold rings with brightly coloured gemstones and diamonds. Designs were bold and architectural with a mix of cuts, creating a distinctive style for this era!

Often featuring impressive and rare gemstones from renowned old mines, vintage rings make for a wonderful investment, as many of these gems hail from older mines which have long since been depleted.

All the vintage rings in the Berganza collection are original to the time period, rather than being made in the vintage style. This gives them an intrinsic charm that cannot be replicated when a piece is made primarily by modern machinery rather than by hand.

Vintage rings can be worn for any occasion, and are a unique and exciting accessory to adorn yourself with. They make a wonderful choice for an engagement ring, especially if you are looking for a design that is unique to you and your style. With so many different designs to choose from, you are sure to find the perfect piece to celebrate your engagement!
