Victorian diamond three stone ring. Centrally set with a cushion shape old mine diamond in an open backclaw and grain setting with an approximate weight of 1.35 carats, flanked to either side by two round old cutdiamonds in open back claw and grain settings with a combined weight of 1.60 carats, further adorned by six round eight cut diamonds with a combined weight of 0.12 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 3.07 carats, to a graduating carved half hoop design featuring curving stylised claws, an ornate openwork gallery with scrolling motifs and fancy open backholing, the broad integrated shoulders with carved detail flow through to a solid D-shapeshank. Tested yellow gold, circa 1890.
