These gemstones are incredibly rare, as today gemstones are routinely treated to enhance their colour. Natural gemstones display a superior hue and depth of colour their treated counterparts can never attain. The old mines of Kashmir, Ceylon, Colombia and Burma are renowned for having produced the finest quality gems.
