 Description

Edwardian sapphire and diamond coronet cluster ring. Set to centre with an oval old cut natural unenhanced Thai sapphire in an open back claw setting with a weight of 2.98 carats, further set with ten cushion shape old mine cut diamonds in open back claw and rubover settings with a combined approximate weight of 2.80 carats, flanked by two cushion shape old mine cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.26 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 3.06 carats, to an elegant coronet cluster design featuring curving claws, an intricately pierced gallery and fancy shape open backholing, leading to smooth shoulders and flowing through to a solid D-shape shank. Tested as yellow gold and platinum, circa 1910, accompanied by American Gemological Laboratories (AGL) report #1146083.
