Reflective, durable, scintillating and alluring, no other gemstone has enjoyed the worldwide fame and acclaim like the  diamond. This month we are celebrating diamonds in all their beauty and those lucky enough to be born in April who have this incredible gem as their birthstone.

Prized for their unique physical attributes including hardness, brilliance and dazzling sparkle, it is no wonder that diamonds have come to symbolise strength, invincibility and eternal love. The first significant source of this exquisite gem was India, more specifically the Golconda region. This ancient resource was the producer of many famous diamonds including the radiant blue, Hope diamond.

As skills and technology advanced the cutting and fashioning of diamonds developed, making available an array of shapes and cuts. Whether you are charmed by the subtlety of the rose cut, enamoured by the old mine diamond, captivated by the old cut or enticed by the geometric shapes of the step cut, the diamond provides a versatile choice suitable for all.

Not only can the diamond be found in all shapes and sizes, but it also features an impressive range of colours. Colourless diamonds are the most popular choice, but for those who love a vibrant colour, diamonds can be found in bright yellows, rich blues, tantalizing pinks, majestic cognac and rare reds.

Celebrating a birthday for yourself or a loved one this month? At Berganza we have a range of diamond set jewellery from the ancient, antique and vintage worlds. Choose from a wide selection of rings, earrings, bracelets, necklaces, pendants and brooches to secure a unique diamond set jewellery piece today.
