Victorian diamond snake ring. Set with a cushion shape old mine diamond in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 0.25 carats, further set with two round rose cut diamonds in closed back rubover settings with a combined weight of 0.04 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.29 carats, to a coiled serpent design featuring curving claws, engraved details and open and closed backholing, leading to integrated shoulders and flowing through to a solid shank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold, full hallmarks for London, maker's mark 'TE', English, circa 1861.
