Description

Ancient Roman banded agate gold ring. Set to centre with a round cabochon banded agate in a closed back rubover setting, to an intricately raised border with recessed surroundings in a hexagonal bezel, flanked to either side with broad trumpeting shoulders featuring ornately carved scrolling pelta patterns which terminate to a solid ribbed shank. Tested yellow gold, approximately 8.5g in weight, circa 3rd-4th century AD.
