Victorian five stone ruby and diamond ring. Set with three cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced Siam rubies in open back claw settings with a combined approximate weight of 1.00 carats, further set with two round old cut diamonds in open back claw and grain settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.70 carats, accented with eight round rose cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.08 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.78 carats, to an ornate five stone design featuring curving claws, a carved openwork gallery with scrolling motifs and fancy open backholing, leading to engraved shouders and flowing through to a smoothly conforming solid D-shape shank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold, English, circa 1900, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #5782-157 and Gem & Pearl Laboratory report #18768.
