 Description

Ancient Roman ant intaglio ring. Set with an oval cornelian intaglio depicting an ant or beetle, in a closed back rubover setting, flanked by integrated smoothly conforming shoulders which taper to a solid D-shape shank. Tested yellow gold, approximately 6.1g in weight, circa 1st century BC-1st century AD, accompanied by an Oxford Labs X-ray fluorescence report stating the composition of the metal.

This ring is in fine condition with an attractive patina.
