Description
Belle Époque diamond drop earrings, circa 1915. A matching pair, set to centre with a cushion shape old mine diamond in an open back claw setting, two in total with a combined approximate weight of 1.30 carats, set to top with one cushion shape old mine diamond in a closed back rubover setting, two in total with a combined weight of 0.15 carats, decorated further with nine round rose cut diamonds in open back rubover and grain settings, eighteen in total with a combined weight of 0.90 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 2.35 carats, to an articulated drop earring, flowing with movement featuring openwork detailing with millgrain edging, pierced and solid galleries, and open and closed backholing, fitted to top with a secure post and butterfly. Marked platinum, fittings tested silver, indistinct maker's mark, French, circa 1915.
