All eyes are on Canada this week as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge along with their two children, embark on an eight-day tour beginning in British Colombia. Although the visit is the couple’s second official tour to Canada, this visit includes the young prince George and princess Charlotte in their first official tour as a family. The highlights from the first three days of their tour included a brief journey to Vancouver where they visited a number of local charities, wandering through the picturesque Great Bear Rainforest searching for the striking Kermode bear and a traditional youth performance in Bella Bella.

Most of the engagements have not included the two youngest royals however, upcoming events such as the family tea party in the gardens of Government House are tailored with them in mind. With over thirty engagements over the course of their stay there is plenty of chances for style enthusiasts to catch a glimpse of the wardrobe choices of princess Catherine. In her first appearances she was adorned with sapphire and diamond coronet cluster earrings paired with a matching pendant with a swift change to demure diamond and pearl earrings. For the reception dinner at Government House the Duchess stole the show in a vibrant red cocktail dress paired with Queen Elizabeth’s diamond maple leaf brooch and baroque pearl drop earrings.

Top of the list on princess Catherine’s signature style is understated classic jewellery pieces which transition easily from day to night. Unlike those who came before her the Duchess jewellery choices are quite refined and wearable. Rarely will you see an outfit which isn’t accessorised with elegant drop earrings set with a number of different gemstones. Favoured gemstones of the duchess are diamond, emerald, aquamarine and of course royal blue sapphire which is featured in her famous engagement ring. Occasionally her earrings are matched into sophisticated suites with matching pendants and bracelets.
