Society wedding Pippa Middleton marries James Matthews

Pippa’s choices have proven quite traditional

Thursday 18th May 2017

It has been six years since Kate Middleton emerged at Westminster Abbey dressed in her iconic Alexander McQueen lace dress ready to marry our future King, Prince William. It was in this moment that the nation’s heads were turned to Kate’s younger sister Pippa who appeared in her all white figure hugging bridesmaid dress. Ever since the lavish Royal wedding, the media has shown a keen interest in the Duchess’s younger sister. The media coverage intensified in July 2016 when Pippa became engaged to hedge fund manager James Matthews after just a year of dating. Shortly after the proposal in the Lake District, Pippa was photographed wearing her large Asscher cut diamond engagement ring. The cluster ring is geometrically shaped with a single row of diamonds surrounding the central Asscher cut diamond, all set in a bright white metal. This piece is clearly inspired by the creative designs spurred in the Art Deco movement and suits Pippa’s classic and understated style.

With Pippa’s demure and captivating style, the anticipation surrounding the upcoming nuptials has Britain holding its breath. After months of preparation the society wedding of the year will take place this Saturday, with many well-known names in attendance. The ceremony will be held in the quaint St Mark’s Church in Englefield, Berkshire her family’s local village church with the reception set to take place in her parent’s nearby estate. Pippa’s choices thus far have proven quite traditional and with that in mind we have compiled a collection of bridal jewels sure to compliment her wedding attire.

Diamonds have long been associated with eternal love and devotion making them a perfect choice for a Bridal suite. Long elegant diamond drop earrings are a popular choice with variations in design to suit any bride and gown. Catherine Duchess of Cambridge was gifted a pair of chandelier diamond drop earrings from her parents which were worn as part of her wedding ensemble. Diamond set bracelets are equally mesmerising, with designs from the Art Deco period making a statement on the wedding day.

Sapphire set jewels provide a splash of colour and fulfil the criteria for the familiar wedding tale of ‘Something Blue’. Clearly a traditional choice, sapphires are also very symbolic representing purity, fidelity and marital happiness. As Pippa was born in September, sapphire is also her birthstone adding personal significance to this gemstone. With this in mind we are hopeful to see a glimpse of the precious blue gem on her big day maybe as an accent in a bracelet or as a feature wedding band.
