 Description

Art Deco Egyptian Revival sapphire and diamond ring. Set with a vertical line of seventeen square French cut natural unenhanced sapphires, additionally set with four square French cut natural unenhanced sapphires to the shoulders, twenty one in total in open back rubover settings with an approximate combined weight of 1.00 carats, further set with fifty round old cut diamonds in open back grain and rubover settings with an approximate combined weight of 1.50 carats, to a stylized sculptural cluster design with pierced hieroglyphic motifs, millegrain edging and fancy shape open backholing, flanked by trumpeting engraved shoulders which taper through to a solid D-shape shank. Marked platinum, circa 1935.
The ring is Egyptian revival and takes the form of an Egyptian fan like Papyrus flower with the pierce work resembling hieroglyphics.
