Western Byzantinegold monogram ring. A yellow gold ring composed of a circular central plaque engraved with the letters 'AE', flanked to either side by a stylised snake's head and leading smoothly down to a solid rounded shank. Tested yellow gold, approximately 7.2g in weight, circa 5th-6th century AD.
