Vintage convertible ruby dress ring. Set to centre with a row of nine calibré step cut natural rubies in open back rubover settings with an approximate combined weight of 1.20 carats, to a convertible dress ring featuring heavy rope borders which open and close to expose or cover the rubies as preferred, polished edges and open rectangular backholing, leading to heavy trumpeting shoulders and flowing through to a solid double shank, fitted to interior with hinged mechanism. Marked 18 carat yellow gold, indistinct maker's mark, circa 1970.
