Vintage Burmese sapphire and diamond ring. Set to centre with a cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced Burmese sapphire in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 4.45 carats, surrounded by twenty four round brilliant cut diamonds in open back claw settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.75 carats, to an oval radiating cluster with a fine openwork gallery, circular backholing met by tapering open shoulders which flow down to a solid D-shape shank. Marked 18 carat white gold, indistinct maker's mark, French, circa 1970, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #5775-1750.
