Victorian Colombian emerald and diamond coronet cluster engagement ring. Set horizontally to center with an octagonal emerald-cut natural Colombian emerald with no colour enhancement in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 1.20 carats, encircled by a single border of ten cushion shape old cut diamonds in open back claw settings with an approximate combined weight of 1.00 carats, to an elegant oval cluster featuring stylised claws, an intricately pierced gallery and open backholing, flanked by scrolling tri-split shoulders and tapering to a lightly ridged shank. Tested yellow gold, circa 1890, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #80240-31

Rings are one of the most powerful and evocative pieces of jewellery. In its most rudimentary form, a ring is a simple band, composed of any material from bone, wood, glass to precious metal, which encircles the finger.
