Victorian diamond solitaire ring. Set with a cushion shape old mine diamond in an open back claw setting with a weight of 0.64 carats, decorated to either side with two round rose cut diamonds in closed back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.02 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.66 carats, to a integrated collet with scalloped detail, curving claws and circular backholing, the broad trumpeting shoulders feature a hammered effect with engraved six pointed star motifs terminating to a solid D-shape shank. Tested 18 carat yellow gold, circa 1890.
