Victorian diamond set family memorial ring. Centrally set with a cushion shape old cut diamond in an open back grain setting with an approximate weight of 0.30 carats, to a raised cirular bezel featuring a star shape motif with black enamel surround, polished edges and a wide smoothly conforming band with a black enamelled inner channel inscribed 'IN . MEMORY. OF', bordered to top and bottom by an intricately carved scrollwork trim, engraved to interior in italic script 'W J Bassett Obt 24th May 1868 Aet 76; William John Bassett Obit 2 Ap 1896 Etat 64; James Bassett Obt August 26th 1880 Aet 59'. Marked 18 carat yellow gold, full English hallmarks, circa 1880.
