Description

Victorian diamond cluster ring. Set with fifteen cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back claw and grain settings with a combined approximate weight of 3.30 carats, further set with six round rose cut diamonds in closed back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.12 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 3.42 carats, to a marquise shape cluster featuring curving claws, an intricately pierced gallery and open and closed backholing, leading to split carved shoulders with a scrolling motif and flowing through to a solid D-shape shank. Tested 18 carat yellow gold and silver, circa 1900.
