Victorian diamondbrooch pendant. Centrally set with one cushion shape old mine diamond in an open backcut down setting with an approximate weight of 0.85 carats, further enhanced with forty mixed old cutdiamonds in open back cutdown, grain and rubover settings with a combined approximate weight of 1.50 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 2.35 carats, to an articulated brooch pendant with a secure removable diamond set bale to top suspending an intricately scrolling openwork centrepiece with a graduated diamond drop pendant, finely shaped backholing to reverse and fitted with a detachable hidged pin and scroll clasp. Tested yellow gold and silver, circa 1880.
