Description

Victorian aquamarine and diamond earrings. A matching pair of earrings, each set with a drop shape briolette cut natural unenhanced aquamarine in a closed back pin fitting, the two with a combined approximate weight of 4.40 carats, further set with five round old cut diamonds in open back rubover settings, ten in total with a combined weight of 0.35 carats and ten round single cut diamonds in open back grain settings, twenty in total with a combined weight of 0.25 carats and additionally highlighted with seven round rose cut diamonds in open back grain settings, fourteen in total with a combined weight of 0.14 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.74 carats, to an articulated openwork scrolling decorative surmount with finely pierced backholing, elegantly suspending the aquamarine drop, fitted to reverse with a secure post and butterfly, approximately 3.8cm in length. Earrings tested yellow gold with silver settings, butterflies tested yellow gold, English, circa 1900.
