Purple star sapphire and diamond ring by J. Milhening Inc. Set to centre with an oval cabochon natural unenhanced Ceylon purple star sapphire in an open back rubover setting with an approximate weight of 10.50 carats, set on one side with five rectangular baguette cut diamonds in open back half rubover settings with a combined weight of 0.20 carats, further adorned with ten round old cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.35 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.55 carats, to a stylish dress ring with asymmetric design featuring engraved detailing and open backholing, the trumpeting raised split shoulders curve to a solid D-shape shank. Marked platinum and iridium, maker's mark for J. Milhening Inc., American, circa 1935, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #78156-02.
