Ruby and diamond cocktail ring. Set horizontally to centre with three round old cut natural unenhanced Burmese rubies in open back claw settings with an approximate combined weight of 1.50 carats, further set with four rectangular baguette cut diamonds in open back rubover settings with an approximate combined weight of 0.60 carats, decorated further with twenty round brilliant cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.60 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.20 carats, to an elaborate cocktail ring featuring polished borders, an intricately pierced gallery and open backholing, leading to trumpeting shoulders and flowing through to a flat shank featuring linear openwork. Tested platinum, circa 1950.
