Description

Padparadscha sapphire and diamond ring. Centrally set with a cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced padparadscha Ceylon sapphire in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 2.79 carats, encircled by sixteen round old cut diamonds in open back rubover and grain settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.64 carats, to an impressive coronet cluster design featuring stylised claws, an intricately pierced gallery with scalloped motifs and fancy open backholing, leading to raised split shoulders which terminate in ridged detail and flow through to a solid D-shape shank. Tested yellow gold and platinum, circa 1910, accompanied by The Gem and Pearl Laboratory report #22038.
