Oscar Heyman Brothers sapphire and diamond ballerina coronet cluster ring. Set to centre with an oval old cut natural unenhanced sapphire in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 2.20 carats, encircled by sixteen rectangular tapered baguette cut diamonds in open back claw settings with an approximate combined weight of 1.58 carats, to an elegant oval ballerina cluster with curving claws, a structured wirework gallery and intricately pierced backholing, flanked by ridged split shoulders, flowing down to a solid tapered lightly rounded shank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold and platinum, maker's mark for Oscar Heyman Brothers, numbered '33036', American, circa 1970, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #80267-28.

Rings are one of the most powerful and evocative pieces of jewellery. In its most rudimentary form, a ring is a simple band, composed of any material from bone, wood, glass to precious metal, which encircles the finger.
