Gold case by Fabergé, Russian, circa 1900. An 18 carat gold case with invisible hinged lid, the short ends rounded, the top and bottom engraved with a pattern of rays emanating from the front central raised latch set with one oval cabochon sapphire with an approximate weight of 0.50 carats, with matte gold interior, marked with the stamp for Karl Fabergé (KF in cyrillic), approximately 207.9g.

Highly similar two Fabergé cigarette cases in the British Royal Collection, one of which was said to be the favourite cigarette case of Tsar Nicholas II (both pictured in 'Fabergé in the Royal Collection', cat.s 188, 189).
