Description

Emerald, pearl and diamond necklace. Set to the centre with a round old cut diamond in an open back rubover setting with a weight of 1.70 carats linked to a smaller round old cut diamond below, similarly set with a weight of 0.25 carats, suspending a forked negliee comprising of two tapered rows set with eighteen cushion shape old mine diamonds weighing 0.90 carats in total and nine round rose cut diamonds weighing 0.15 carats in total, all in open back millegrain and grain settings, leading down to a natural unenhanced cabochon cylindrical emerald drop to the left weighing approximately 5.20 carats and set slightly lower to the right with a natural saltwater cylindrical pearl drop, approximately 7.4-7.5 x 9.0-10.0mm, from scalloped platinum suspended collets. The total approximate diamond weight is 3.00 carats, set with articulated links adding delicacy and flow to the elegant form with intricate backholing, fitted with two loops and an elongated twist link chain. Tested platinum, circa 1920, accompanied by Gem and Pearl Laboratory report #06678.
