Edwardian diamond solitaire ring. Set with a cushion shape old mine diamond in an open back four claw setting with a weight of 1.18 carats, further set with four round eight cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.04 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.22 carats, to a collet with pierced scrolling motif, fancy shaped backholing and elegant trumpeting openwork sloping shoulders with millegrain highlights, terminating in ridged detail and a slim D-shape shank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold and platinum, English, circa 1915.
