Edwardian diamond cluster ring. Set to centre with a round old cut diamond in an open back grain setting with a weight of 0.25 carats, surrounded by a single row of eight round old cut diamonds in open back grain and claw settings with a combined weight of 0.56 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.81 carats, to a circular coronet cluster featuring curving claws, intricately pierced open gallery and fancy backholing, the raised inwardly tapering shoulders are supported by decorative cheniers before smoothing to a solid D-shape shank. Tested 18 carat yellow gold, circa 1915.
