Edwardian Opal and Diamond drop earrings. A matching pair, each set to bottom with an oval cabochon natural opal in an open back grain settings, two in total with a combined approximate weight of 1.30 carats, encircled by twelve cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back grain settings, twenty four in total with a combined weight of 0.70 carats, further set to top with two cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back rubover settings, four in total with a combined weight of 0.20 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.90 carats to an elegant articulated pair of drop earrings, flowing with movement featuring millegrain edging, pierced galleries and fancy shape open backholing, fitted to top with a secure shepherd's hook, approximately 3.5cm in length. Tested platinum and yellow gold, circa 1915.
