Description

Edwardian Burmese ruby and diamond coronet cluster ring. Set to centre with a cushion shape mixed cut natural unenhanced Burmese ruby with no colour enhancement in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 3.50 carats, surrounded by fourteen cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back claw and grain settings with a combined approximate weight of 1.00 carats, to a coronet cluster design with curving claws, an intricately pierced gallery and open backholing, the slightly raised tapering shoulders supported by cheniers, flowing to a solid D-shape shank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold with platinum settings, circa 1910, accompanied by Swiss Gemmological Institute report #99650.
