Description

Burmese ruby and diamond drop earrings. A matching pair, each set to centre with a cushion shape old mine natural and unenhanced Burmese ruby in an open back rubover setting, two in total, one with a weight of 1.24 carats, the other with a weight of 1.10 carats, suspended from a round old cut diamond in an open back rubover setting, two in total, with a combined weight of 0.70 carats, further adorned with six round single cut diamonds in open back rubover settings with a combined weight of 0.20 carats. The total approximate ruby weight is 2.34 carats, the total approximate diamond weight is 0.90 carats, to an elegant articulated drop earring, flowing with movement, featuring pierced collets, millegrain edging and open backholing, fitted to reverse with secure post and butterfly, approximately 3cm in length. Earrings tested platinum, butterflies marked platinum, circa 1920, accompanied by Gem Research Swisslab reports #GRS2015-122605 and #GRS2015-122606.
