Art Nouveau diamond coronet cluster ring. Set to centre with a round old cut diamond in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 0.85 carats, encircled by sixteen round eight cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.32 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.17 carats, to an ornate coronet cluster design featuring curving claws and a carved ridged border, a pierced and polished gallery and open circular backholing, leading to trumpeting shoulders with an intricate openwork heart motif and flowing through to a solid D-shape shank. Tested yellow gold and platinum, French import mark, circa 1900.
