Art Deco sapphire and diamond cocktail ring. Set to top with a kite shape step cut natural unenhanced sapphire in an open back rubover setting with an approximate weight of 1.00 carats, centrally and adjacently set with nineteen round old cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.50 carats, to a stylish geometric cluster featuring angular polished borders, smooth gallery and intricately shaped backholing, the split open trumpeting shoulders included a champfered edge which continues to a solid shank. Tested yellow gold and platinum, circa 1938.
