Description

Antique emerald and diamond coronet cluster ring. Centrally set with a square emerald-cut natural emerald with no colour enhancement in an open back four claw setting with an approximate weight of 6.05 carats, encircled by a single row of twelve round old cut diamonds in open back rubover and grain settings with a combined weight of 2.30 carats, flanked by six round single cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.06 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 2.36 carats, to an elegant floraform cluster with scalloped edging, ornately carved open gallery and shaped backholing, all supported by open raised shoulders flowing down to a solid flat shank. Tested yellow gold with platinum settings, circa 1910, accompanied by The Gem & Pearl Laboratory (GPL) report #08045.
