Antique red spinel and diamond coronet cluster ring. Centrally set with a cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced red spinel in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 2.00 carats, encircled by a single row of twelve cushion shape old cut diamonds in open back claw settings with an approximate combined weight of 1.00 carats, to an elegant cushion shape cluster with intricate pierced curving claws and open backholing, flanked by fluted trumpeted shoulders, flowing down to a solid tapered D-shape shank. Tested yellow gold, circa 1890.
