Description

Antique opal and diamond cluster ring. Set horizontally with three round cabochon natural unenhanced opals in open back claw and grain settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.45 carats, the central opal encircled by a single row of twelve round old cut diamonds in open back claw and grain settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.60 carats, to a flanked coronet cluster featuring curving stylised claws, incised gallery and intricately pierced circular backholing, the slightly trumpeting shoulders flow to a solid D-shape shank. Marked 18 carat gold, indistinct maker's mark, full English hallmarks for London, circa 1911.
