Antique agate and diamond brooch with locket back. Centrally set with a cushion shape old mine cut diamond in a closed back claw setting with an approximate weight of 0.05 carats, to an ornate oval shaped brooch featuring a central oval agate plaque with a floral motif, encircled by four carved circular agate plaques featuring a floral motif to the centre of each, surrounded by ornate carved foliate scrolls with a stippled gold background, set to reverse with an oval locket back encapsulating a lock of hair, with a secure hinged bar fastening. Tested yellow gold, circa 1860.
