Ancient Roman gold earrings with beads. A matching pair, each consisting of an oval hoop set to centre with a glass bead held in place by decorative twisted metal collars, all to an elaborate hook closure, hoop is approximately 2.7cm in length. Tested yellow gold, circa 1st-3rd century AD.
These earrings have been fitted with modern yellow gold shepherd's hook fittings so that they can be worn today without affecting their historical integrity.
