Ancient Roman cornelian vase intaglio ring. A gold ring centrally set with an oval cornelian plaque, finely carved with a decorative vase in a closed back rubover setting, flanked by broad flat shoulders which curve to a solid D-shape shank. Tested yellow gold, approximately 5.4g in weight, circa 2nd century AD, accompanied by an Oxford Labs X-ray fluorescence report stating the composition of the metal.
