Ancient Greek wirework earrings. A matching pair, each composed of a yellow gold antelope head finial, hand carved with intricate detail, flowing into an integral solid gold hoop decorated with tightly coiled fine wires, proceeding full circle to the original hook closure, securely fitted with a post and butterfly. Tested yellow gold, circa 4th century BC.

These earrings are a particularly fine example of Ancient Greek craftsmanship, showcasing several highly technical goldworking techniques.

These earrings have been adapted for modern use in a way which has not affected their historical integrity, please contact us for further information.
