Description

A mid-nineteenth century blue enamel and gold chatelaine. The item is one of the finest we have owned and would be a prized asset to any collector. Of exceptional quality craftsmanship this piece is a rare find. A snake head set with old cut ruby set eyes and cloisonné royal blue enamelling. Snake scales carved the length of the body. Pendant loop to top or can be worn as intended at the waist on a belt. 4.5" in length and 1.5" wide. French in origin, circa 1860.
