Antique solitaire diamond ring in gold by Emile Viener, English, circa 1897. A yellow gold ring set with one central round old cut diamond in an illusion setting with an approximate weight of 2.75 carats, the raised integrated shoulders ornately with florettes and scrolling foliate motifs, all on a half round shank. Bearing the last mark of the Chester assay office (in use 1779-1961), and the maker's mark of of Emile Viener (later Viner) of Sheffield.
